The feature of a machining center
2021-09-13 14:57:38

A machining center is a machine used to process metal sheet, molds and shell parts. It can complete various machining processes such as drilling, milling, and boring, but its price is relatively high, and the high machining cost is much higher than that of traditional manual machine tools. Therefore, the processing center is required to greatly reduce the processing time of a single product. The design of the machining center is closely related to its machining efficiency and quality.

1. High static and dynamic style. Horizontal machining centers are expensive, and the wear cost during machining is much higher than that of traditional machine tools. This requires the machine tool to greatly shorten the processing time.

2. Better static stiffness. For the machining center, the structural rigidity of its components such as the bed, worktable, headstock, guide rail, etc. It is closely related to the accuracy of the machine tool, so these factors require the machine tool to have a higher static stiffness.

3. Less thermal deformation. When the machine tool performs cutting processing, without exception, heat will be generated, which will adversely affect the machine tool, resulting in different degrees of thermal deformation of each part of the machine tool, and affecting the accuracy of the processed product. However, how to reduce the impact of mitigating heat on the accuracy of processed products is a problem to be considered.

4. The friction between the moving parts is small, and the gap of the transmission system is eliminated. The movement of the machine tool worktable is based on the pulse equivalent. When performing tool setting or other slow operations, the worktable needs to respond accurately to commands issued by the CNC system. These commands are related to the friction of the moving parts.

5. Long service life and good accuracy retention. For horizontal machining centers, the lubrication system is the guarantee of the service life of the machine tool. Therefore, when choosing guide rails, spindle parts, screws, etc., wear-resistant materials should be selected. The machining center can maintain good accuracy for a long time.

6. Humanized design. In order to save time for clamping and tool change, machining centers usually use multiple tool holders and automatic tool changers to solve more problems with one clamping. Therefore, in the process of clamping and tool change, manual intervention is minimized to make the man-machine interface more clear and tidy.
