Characteristics and technical requirements of cast iron floor bed plate
2021-10-13 14:46:32

In addition to ordinary properties, cast iron floor bed plate also have unique characteristics:

1. Cast iron flat plate, with good machinability after light sand guide, and feel smooth when grinding.

2. It is easy to obtain the higher finish and grinding properties required by the gauge block, and the mirror surface of the workpiece is clear.

3. The cast iron plate can be sanded with a simpler method, and the sanding is fast and the amount of sand is sufficient. After use, the same type of sand can still be easily applied. After polishing, the finish is significantly improved. It is widely used in power equipment, textile machinery, ceramic industry, environmental protection equipment, railway locomotives, aerospace, ship manufacturing, environmental protection equipment, and other fields.

Skills requirement

1. The flat working surface must not have any defects such as sand holes, pores, cracks, slag inclusions, shrinkage, scratches, bruises, embroidered spots, etc., which seriously affect the appearance and performance of the machine.

2. The casting surface of the slab should be cleaned of sand and smooth, and the paint should be firm.

3. Sand holes with a diameter of less than 15mm are allowed to be blocked with the same material on the flat working surface with accuracy grades of 0 to 3, and the hardness should be less than the hardness of the surrounding materials. There should be no more than 4 sand holes blocked on the working face, and the distance between sand holes should not be less than 80mm.

4. The flat plate should be made of fine gray cast iron and other materials, and the hardness of the working surface should be 170~220HB.

5. The flat working surface usually adopts the scraping process. For the 3-level flat working surface that adopts scraping processing, the maximum allowable value of the surface roughness Ra is 5μm.

6. The plate should be demagnetized and stabilized.

7. On the two opposite sides of the plate, there should be threaded holes (or cylindrical holes) for installing handles or lifting ring devices, and the design of the device position should minimize the deformation caused by handling.

8. If a threaded hole (or groove) is set on the working surface of the flat plate, its position should not be higher than the working surface.
